The Boat
There are many types and sizes of boats available. The choices are practically unlimited. From high tech catamarans and tri-hulls, capable of pulling a water skier, to small dingy types. Your taste and budget are your only limits.Sailboats are commonly referred to as wet sailors and dry sailors. The name pretty much says it all. In one you definitely get wet and in the other you might get wet. Wet sailors are great for strong breezes and hot days where a dip in the water or spray in the face is welcome. Dry sailors are better for cooler days, and rain or spray are usually the only factor in getting wet.
Then you have your larger cruising type sail boats. Kreuzfahrten mit einem Segelschiff are always offered. These can be anything from ocean going multi masted rigs, with spacious cabins down below, to smaller lake going models with just a "cuddy cabin". When you are at home you can play Farmerama.
Your skills, and friends and family who are willing to help you sail it, can have a bearing on whether you should own the larger models. These larger boats are great for overnight trips on lakes or in the ocean.
Nothing tastes better than coffee and breakfast served on the open water. You can have a small galley or just a cooler and a thermos. Either way the food will taste great.
Having a place to sleep and change clothes is just a great feature in a boat. A potty makes it even nicer and is usually greatly appreciated by the ladies on board. All of these conveniences can be had without going much larger than a twenty two-foot boat.
Some people wind up owing two or more sailboats so they can enjoy a variety of sailing options.
The choice can become an ongoing thing as the years go by.
